Veteran Pakistani actor Ayub Khoso, a respected figure in the country’s entertainment industry, has revealed the surprisingly humorous and light-hearted story of how he first entered the world of show business.

In a candid conversation during a morning show on a private TV channel, the host asked Khoso a question that many fans have wondered for years: “How did you join PTV?” The actor, known for his warm personality and infectious smile, responded with a mischievous grin. “Honestly,” he said, “I used to go there just to see beautiful girls.” His frankness drew laughter from both the audience and the host, immediately setting the tone for an engaging interview.

Khoso went on to explain that during one of his visits to the PTV station, he encountered Kareem Baloch, who was serving as the General Manager at the time. Curious about the young man’s frequent presence, Baloch asked him, “What brings you here?” Without hesitation, Khoso replied, “I’m here to look around and visit the TV station.” Amused by his answer, Kareem Baloch followed up with a question that would change Khoso’s life forever: “Are you here only to look around, or would you also like to act in a drama?”

That was the turning point. Khoso, without giving it a second thought, expressed his eagerness to perform in a drama. Soon after, he was offered a role in a Balochi-language drama. This debut marked the beginning of a long and fruitful career that would eventually make him one of Pakistan’s most recognized and respected television and film actors.

While Khoso recounted this story with humor, he also reflected on the expectations his family had for him. “My family didn’t have any strong reactions to my joining showbiz,” he recalled. “But my father was concerned. He worried that I might get distracted and that my studies might suffer.”

Khoso reassured his father by completing his education. However, there was one dream of his father’s that he was never able to fulfill. “My father wanted me to become a bureaucrat,” he said with a touch of nostalgia. “But once I entered the world of art, I could never leave it. And here I am, still working in this field to this day.”

This revelation offers a fascinating glimpse into the personal journey of a man who has portrayed countless characters on screen, each with depth and authenticity. It also shows the unpredictability of life — how a casual visit to PTV, initially driven by light-hearted curiosity, could evolve into a lifelong passion and a celebrated profession.

Ayub Khoso’s story is not only amusing but also inspiring. It reminds us that careers sometimes take shape in unexpected ways. What begins as a simple, even whimsical decision, can open doors to opportunities that shape an entire lifetime. His journey from a young man casually wandering the halls of PTV to a respected artist with decades of contributions to Pakistani drama and cinema is a testament to the power of seizing the moment when opportunity knocks.

Over the years, Khoso has become known for his versatility, taking on roles that range from intense and dramatic to light and comedic. His dedication to his craft has earned him admiration from fans and peers alike. Despite his success, he remains refreshingly down-to-earth, as evidenced by his willingness to share such a playful and honest account of his beginnings.

Reflecting on his early days, Khoso emphasized that his entry into showbiz was not the result of a well-planned career move, but rather a blend of chance, personality, and openness to new experiences. “Sometimes,” he said, “life pushes you in a direction you never imagined. I never thought I’d end up in acting, but once I started, I couldn’t stop.”

His story also subtly highlights the role of mentors and decision-makers in nurturing new talent. Without Kareem Baloch’s curiosity and willingness to give a newcomer a chance, Pakistani audiences might never have experienced the artistry of Ayub Khoso.

In the end, Ayub Khoso’s career is a living example of how passion can grow out of unexpected circumstances. From that first role in a Balochi drama to his many acclaimed performances on television and film, his journey has been as colorful and dynamic as the characters he portrays. And it all began with a simple, honest desire — to enjoy the beauty and liveliness of the world around him, a desire that led him to the very heart of Pakistan’s entertainment industry.
