Despite this, 14 essential items including sugar and rice became more expensive, while 12 items saw a decline in prices, and the prices of 25 items remained stable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the report issued by the Statistics Department, the trend of a slowdown in the rate of inflation continues. Over the past week, the annual inflation rate increased by only <strong>1.52%<\/strong>, while weekly inflation registered a <strong>0.18%<\/strong> decrease.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The report highlights that in the past week, electricity prices rose by <strong>6.88%<\/strong>, jaggery by <strong>1%<\/strong>, sugar by <strong>0.88%<\/strong>, LPG by <strong>1.24%<\/strong>, tomatoes by <strong>0.99%<\/strong>, and Basmati broken rice by <strong>0.69%<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition, prices increased for the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Powdered milk<\/strong> by <strong>0.03%<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Fresh open milk<\/strong> by <strong>0.38%<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Yogurt<\/strong> by <strong>0.36%<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Firewood<\/strong> by <strong>0.11%<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Garlic<\/strong> by a significant <strong>5.15%<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Meanwhile, prices fell for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Potatoes<\/strong> by <strong>1.27%<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Onions<\/strong> by <strong>1.46%<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Eggs<\/strong> by a notable <strong>12.27%<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Chicken meat<\/strong> by <strong>10.75%<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Mash lentils<\/strong> by <strong>0.49%<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Moong lentils<\/strong> by <strong>0.39%<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Bananas<\/strong> by <strong>2.75%<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Another unspecified item by <strong>1.01%<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The report presents a mixed picture but shows an overall slight improvement in inflationary pressure for the week.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>| 2025-06-28 10:44:18 Islamabad (Saturday, June 28, 2025) \u2013 A decrease in weekly inflation has been observed.
