Date: June 28, 2025 \u2013 09:27 AM<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Islamabad:<\/strong> (Saturday, June 28, 2025) An intra-court appeal has been filed against the verdict in the transfer case of five judges of the Islamabad High Court.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Through senior lawyer Muneer A. Malik, five judges of the Islamabad High Court filed an intra-court appeal in the Supreme Court, requesting that the verdict in the judges’ transfer case be declared null and void.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The appeal also requested the court to suspend the June 19 decision until the intra-court appeal is decided. It is worth noting that the Supreme Court had earlier upheld the judges’ transfers to the Islamabad High Court and had referred the seniority matter of the five-member bench to the President of Pakistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The constitutional bench of the Supreme Court had announced its reserved verdict on June 19 in the judges’ transfer case, dismissing all petitions filed against the transfers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Supreme Court, by a 2-3 majority, ruled that the transfer of three judges was constitutional. The verdict also stated that Justice Sarfraz Dogar would continue serving as the Acting Chief Justice of the Islamabad High Court.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It should be recalled that following the decision by President Asif Zardari to transfer judges from other high courts to the Islamabad High Court, five judges of the Islamabad High Court had filed a petition in the Supreme Court on February 20 this year regarding the issue of seniority.
