{"id":4094,"date":"2025-04-16T19:31:42","date_gmt":"2025-04-16T14:31:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pakjazbo.com\/?p=4094"},"modified":"2025-04-16T19:31:45","modified_gmt":"2025-04-16T14:31:45","slug":"tehran-says-its-right-to-enrich-uranium-non-negotiable-ahead-of-us-talks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pakjazbo.com\/?p=4094","title":{"rendered":"Tehran says its right to enrich uranium non-negotiable ahead of US talks"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Araqchi urges trust-building, rejects US call to end enrichment.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Iran to deliver Supreme Leader\u2019s message to Russia&#8217;s Putin.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Tehran may oppose plan to transfer uranium stockpile abroad.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Iran\u2019s Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi rejected Washington\u2019s demand to end uranium enrichment on Wednesday, ahead of a second round of nuclear talks in Oman this weekend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Araqchi was responding to remarks made a day earlier by US top negotiator Steve Witkoff, who said Tehran must \u201cstop and eliminate its nuclear enrichment\u201d to secure a deal with Washington.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe have heard contradictory statements from Witkoff, but real positions will be made clear at the negotiating table,\u201d Araqchi said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe are ready to build trust regarding possible concerns over Iran\u2019s enrichment, but the principle of enrichment is not negotiable.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Iran and the United States are scheduled to resume talks in Oman on Saturday as tensions grow over Tehran\u2019s expanding nuclear programme, with US President Donald Trump warning of possible military action in the absence of a deal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Iranian state media reported that, ahead of the negotiations, Araqchi will travel to Russia to deliver a message from Iran\u2019s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, to President Vladimir Putin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On Tuesday, the Kremlin declined to comment when asked whether Russia was prepared to take custody of Iran\u2019s enriched uranium stockpile as part of a potential nuclear agreement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Guardian reported that Tehran is expected to reject a US proposal to transfer its enriched uranium to a third country such as Russia, under a deal aimed at limiting Iran\u2019s nuclear capabilities.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Iran\u2019s Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi rejected Washington\u2019s demand to end uranium enrichment on Wednesday, ahead of a second round of nuclear talks in Oman this weekend.
