Pakistan and Russia have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation in combating corruption and money laundering, including the tracing and recovery of illegally acquired assets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The agreement was signed in Moscow by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Lieutenant General (retd.) Nazir Ahmed and Russian Prosecutor General Igor Vladimirovich Krasnov.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Under the agreement, the two countries will exchange expertise, experiences and best practices in preventing corruption and money laundering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The MoU provides for joint efforts to identify, trace and recover assets acquired through corruption and money laundering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Both sides also agreed to promote professional training, capacity building and collaborative research to strengthen the capabilities of their respective institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The agreement includes joint initiatives to raise awareness among young people and promote intolerance towards corruption.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
NAB and its Russian counterpart will also cooperate in tracing and recovering assets linked to money laundering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
