Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has signed an agreement with US energy technology company Baker Hughes to increase oil and gas production from Pakistan\u2019s mature fields.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to an OGDCL spokesperson, the agreement aims to boost output from the company\u2019s existing and ageing oil and gas assets by using advanced technology and technical expertise provided by Baker Hughes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Under the agreement, Baker Hughes will work to revitalise OGDCL\u2019s mature assets as part of the company\u2019s comprehensive production optimisation campaign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
OGDCL has 18 major mature assets, including 12 oil fields and six gas and condensate fields.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The company currently produces around 40,000 barrels of crude oil per day, 815 million standard cubic feet of gas per day (MMSCFD) and 780 metric tonnes of LPG daily.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The spokesperson said the agreement marked a significant step towards strengthening Pakistan\u2019s energy security and increasing domestic oil and gas production.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
