Pakistan Peoples Party leader Raja Pervaiz Ashraf has said the government is providing medical facilities to the PTI chief, stressing that the former prime minister, like every other prisoner, has a fundamental right to healthcare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Talking to the media in Mandi Bahauddin, Ashraf said access to medical treatment was a basic right and should be available to the former prime minister in accordance with the law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Commenting on the political situation, he said the country\u2019s political system had faced serious uncertainty when one party dissolved the assemblies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said the PPP had joined hands with other political forces for the stability of Pakistan and that cooperation with the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz was aimed at helping the country overcome its difficulties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe agenda of the PPP and the PML-N is to get Pakistan out of difficulties,\u201d Ashraf said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Responding to questions about a possible new political or administrative system and the creation of new provinces, the PPP leader said any such proposal would first have to come before parliament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said parliament was the appropriate forum for considering and deciding such matters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ashraf also referred to the Iran-US situation, saying it had triggered a wave of inflation across the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said Pakistan\u2019s image internationally had also changed and that a \u201cnew face of Pakistan\u201d had emerged before the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Turning to the energy sector, the former prime minister said the fundamental electricity problem was the gap between demand and supply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ashraf expressed disagreement with the government\u2019s solar policy and argued that greater solarisation offered the best solution to the country\u2019s energy crisis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said solar energy should be made cheaper and brought within the reach of ordinary people so that more households could benefit from alternative power generation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
