Candidates will file their nomination papers between 9:30 AM and 11:30 AM, while the final list will be displayed at 1:00 PM following scrutiny.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Voting will be held at 2:00 PM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Although there are reports that the PML-N has finalized the name of Barrister Iftikhar Gilani as its candidate for the seat of the prime minister, there is no formal announcement in this regard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz had finalized Barrister Iftikhar Gilani as its candidate for the post of prime minister of AJK, following consultations at the Prime Minister\u2019s House.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The decision was taken at a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, where party leaders held detailed discussions on the formation of the new PML-N government in AJK.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Senator Rana Sanaullah, Khawaja Saad Rafique, PML-N AJK President Shah Ghulam Qadir and former AJK prime minister Raja Farooq Haider attended the meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Newly elected Speaker Chaudhry Tariq Farooq, Deputy Speaker Ahmed Raza Qadri and Barrister Iftikhar Gilani, who was elected on a technocrat seat, were also present.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The meeting discussed the party\u2019s future parliamentary strategy, formation of the new cabinet and priorities of the incoming government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Participants also considered measures aimed at improving governance and the functioning of government departments, while deliberating on a future course of action for the new administration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The schedule for the election of the prime minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) was issued on Wednesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The elections were held in three phases between July 27 and August 10. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Of the 45 directly contested constituencies, polling was held in 38, with the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) securing 25 seats and the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) winning 12.
