President Asif Ali Zardari has approved the appointment of additional judges in various high courts and confirmation of certain additional judges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to a statement posted on X platform on Tuesday morning, the President has approved the appointment of additional judges in the Lahore High Court, Sindh High Court, Peshawar High Court, Islamabad High Court, and Balochistan High Court.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The President has also approved the confirmation of certain additional judges of the Sindh High Court and Lahore High Court as permanent judges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Moreover, the President also gave his assent to the equalization of the salaries, allowances, and pensions of Supreme Court judges with those of judges of the Federal Constitutional Court.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The President has approved amendments to the 1997 order relating to the leave, pensions, and privileges of the high court judges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The President has approved the appointment of Haroon Akhtar as Advisor to the Prime Minister on Industries and Production.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Law Ministry notifies appointments<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The Law Ministry said on Tuesday that it had issued notifications for the appointment of 19 additional judges in high courts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Besides that, it added, notifications had also been issued for making six additional high court judges as permanent judges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n A notification was issued for the appointment of 10 judges in the Lahore High Court (LHC).<\/p>\n\n\n\n Notifications had also been issued for the appointment of three judges in Islamabad, Sindh and Balochistan high courts each. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Apart from that, four additional judges of the Peshawar High Court (PHC) were notified as permanent judges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 3 IHC addl judges take oath<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Three new additional judges of Islamabad High Court have taken oath on Tuesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Justice Ayaz Shaukat, Justice Umair Majeed Malik and Justice Sharukh Arjumand have taken oath.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Sardar Sarfaraz Dogar administered oath to judges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n LHC judges oath-taking <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Following the approval of appointment of 10 additional judges in the Lahore High Court (LHC) by President Asif Ali Zardari, the newly appointed judges will be administered the oath after the issuance of notifications. <\/p>\n\n\n\n LHC Chief Justice (CJ) Justice Aalia Neelum will administer the oath to the 10 additional judges. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Advocate general, prosecutor general, additional attorney general and members of bar associations will attend the oath-taking ceremony, which will be held at the LHC lawns.
