Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) has announced nationwide sit-ins from August 16 against the petroleum levy and high petrol prices.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The decision was taken at a special meeting chaired by JI amir Hafiz Naeemur Rehman, attended by senior party leaders and provincial and major-city chiefs through video link.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The meeting decided to postpone the sit-ins originally planned for August 9 so that Independence Day celebrations could be held across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The protests will now begin simultaneously in all four provinces on August 16.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said a major sit-in would be held outside the Punjab Chief Minister\u2019s House in Lahore, while protests would take place outside the governor houses in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh and Balochistan.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
