The program does not cover single-dose Zepbound vials or pens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Amazon Pharmacy said it would initiate the enrollment process \u200bon a customer\u2019s behalf once the patient adds insurance and Medicare \u200bdetails to their account and a clinician submits an electronic prescription.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Most Amazon Pharmacy \u200cBridge \u2060Program patients received a prior authorization decision in less than 24 hours, compared with the 72-hour timeframe allowed under the Medicare Bridge Program, Tanvi Patel, vice president and general manager of Amazon Pharmacy, told Reuters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Many \u200bof the claims \u200bsubmitted have already \u2060resulted in completed orders, the company added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Amazon Pharmacy launched electronic kiosks in its One Medical primary care locations \u200blast year to improve access and cut shipping costs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One \u200bMedical, \u2060a national primary care provider Amazon acquired in 2023, allows patients to access primary and urgent care for an annual subscription fee of $199.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Same-day delivery \u2060is \u200bavailable in more than 3,100 U.S. cities \u200band towns and is expected to expand to nearly 4,500 locations by the end of \u200b2026, Amazon said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Amazon\u2019s pharmacy unit said on Thursday it would offer weight-loss drugs to eligible Medicare beneficiaries \u200bfor $50 a month through a new federal program created to \u200cexpand access to the highly sought-after treatments.
