{"id":26253,"date":"2026-08-05T17:57:19","date_gmt":"2026-08-05T12:57:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pakjazbo.com\/?p=26253"},"modified":"2026-08-05T17:58:47","modified_gmt":"2026-08-05T12:58:47","slug":"ari-for-collective-efforts-to-keep-young-people-away-from-every-kind-of-tobacco-use","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pakjazbo.com\/?p=26253","title":{"rendered":"ARI for collective efforts to keep young people away from every kind of tobacco use"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"851\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/pakjazbo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/1-4-851x1024.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-26258\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pakjazbo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/1-4-851x1024.png 851w, https:\/\/pakjazbo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/1-4-249x300.png 249w, https:\/\/pakjazbo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/1-4-768x924.png 768w, https:\/\/pakjazbo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/1-4.png 1080w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 851px) 100vw, 851px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">ISLAMABAD: Alternative Research Initiative (ARI) and its partner NARI Foundation Sukkur Sindh have called for collective efforts to keep the young people away from every kind of tobacco use, including smoking, in Pakistan.<br>\u201cIt is time everybody comes together to save our youth from the dangers of smoking and every kind of tobacco use,\u201d said Arshad Ali Syed, Project Director of ARI.<br>NARI Foundation Representative stated that combustible smoking remains a leading cause of preventable diseases, including cancer, heart disease, and respiratory illnesses. \u201cThe young people are particularly vulnerable, as they are often exposed to smoking at a young age, leading to lifelong addiction and health issues.\u201d<br>He regretted that smoking by the young is seen as a normal part of growing up. \u201cA habit which leads to lifelong health issues is accepted without much concern.\u201d<br>Research indicates that the restrictions on access to cigarettes for children are weakly implemented while access to alternative tobacco products is easy and without any barriers. \u201cThis is a worrisome development and must be addressed on urgent basis.\u201d<br>He called for increased awareness about the harmful effects of smoking, backed by comprehensive education programs in schools and communities.
