{"id":24077,"date":"2026-07-05T20:50:13","date_gmt":"2026-07-05T15:50:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pakjazbo.com\/?p=24077"},"modified":"2026-07-05T20:50:13","modified_gmt":"2026-07-05T15:50:13","slug":"sepco-launches-major-anti-power-theft-drive-in-sukkur-disconnects-hundreds-of-illegal-connections","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pakjazbo.com\/?p=24077","title":{"rendered":"SEPCO Launches Major Anti-Power Theft Drive in Sukkur, Disconnects Hundreds of Illegal Connections"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>SUKKUR:<\/strong> The <strong>Sukkur Electric Power Company (SEPCO)<\/strong> launched a large-scale operation against electricity theft in various parts of Sukkur, disconnecting hundreds of illegal electricity connections during a special crackdown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The operation was carried out on the special instructions of <strong>SEPCO Chief Engineer Ijaz Ahmed Channa<\/strong> and was supervised by <strong>Assistant Commissioner Sukkur Abdul Haq Siyal, Executive Engineer (XEN) Khalil Ahmed Chandio, and SDO Bandar Road Sub-Division Khaliq-ur-Rehman Domki<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The enforcement team included <strong>Abdul Malik Soomro, Khadim Katbar, Barkat Ali Mahar, Maqsood Bhatti, Arshad Mughal, Shakeel Shah, Owais Qureshi, Raja Wasitlo, Gul Zaman, Mehtab Channa<\/strong>, and other SEPCO officials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The anti-theft campaign was conducted in several areas, including <strong>Workshop Road, Achar Gali, Shamsabad, Barrage Road, Malri Road, Adam Shah Colony<\/strong>, and surrounding localities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the operation, SEPCO teams carried out door-to-door inspections to identify illegal electricity connections. Officials disconnected hundreds of unauthorized connections and imposed on-the-spot fines on individuals found involved in power theft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition to taking action against electricity theft, SEPCO also recovered <strong>millions of rupees in outstanding electricity dues<\/strong> from consumers. Defaulters were warned to clear their pending bills immediately or face stricter legal and administrative action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">SEPCO officials stated that the campaign is part of the company&#8217;s ongoing efforts to curb electricity theft, reduce line losses, and improve revenue collection across its service areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the officials, the anti-power theft drive will continue in the future under the directives of the concerned Sub-Divisional Officer, with similar inspections planned in other localities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">SEPCO authorities emphasized that electricity theft causes significant financial losses to the national economy and undermines the power distribution system.
