ISLAMABAD:<\/strong> Pakistan is observing the 27th martyrdom anniversary<\/strong> of Captain Karnal Sher Khan Shaheed (Nishan-e-Haider)<\/strong>, one of the country’s most decorated military heroes, who embraced martyrdom during the Kargil conflict<\/strong> on July 5, 1999<\/strong>. On the occasion, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif<\/strong> paid tribute to the fallen officer, describing his sacrifice as an enduring symbol of courage, patriotism, and devotion to the nation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Captain Karnal Sher Khan, who was posthumously awarded the Nishan-e-Haider<\/strong>, Pakistan\u2019s highest military gallantry award, is remembered for his bravery during the fighting in the Kargil sector. According to Pakistan\u2019s official account, he was martyred while leading his troops against enemy positions on July 5, 1999<\/strong>, displaying exceptional courage under intense combat conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Prime Minister stated that the fallen officer’s legacy serves as a reminder that Pakistan\u2019s freedom and sovereignty have been safeguarded through the sacrifices made by its armed forces and martyrs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis great sacrifice reminds us that our independence and sovereignty are the result of the sacred blood of our martyrs,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shehbaz Sharif also reaffirmed the nation\u2019s support for Pakistan\u2019s armed forces, saying the people stand united with the military in confronting both internal and external challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
