Police personnel repelled a late-night militant attack on a police station in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa\u2019s Dera Ismail Khan district, with no casualties or damage reported, according to a police statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The attack targeted Yarik police station, where militants launched an assault from three directions using light and heavy weapons. Police personnel stationed at the facility responded with sustained retaliatory fire, forcing the attackers to retreat after an exchange that lasted around 40 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the police spokesperson, the attackers were identified as militants belonging to what the authorities refer to as \u2018Fitna al-Khawarij\u2019<\/em>. The statement said the personnel on duty acted promptly and effectively, preventing the assailants from breaching the police station.
