The Ex-Servicemen Society has re-elected retired Gen. Abdul Qayyum as its president for a second consecutive term.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Addressing a meeting after his election, Abdul Qayyum thanked members for supporting him and said he would work to address the problems faced by former servicemen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt is an honour for me to be elected president of the Ex-Servicemen Society for the second consecutive time,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said former servicemen were facing several issues, including pension-related problems, but remained committed to the armed forces and the government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Abdul Qayyum said Pakistan had achieved success on the diplomatic front and played an effective role in efforts to stop the Iran-US conflict.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said the society had given representation to members from all four provinces and Azad Kashmir, adding that unity was needed to move forward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said ex-servicemen had rendered sacrifices for the security of the country and would continue to stand with Pakistan and its institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Abdul Qayyum said the nation was united under the leadership of Field Marshal Asim Munir and praised the role of the Pakistan Army.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He also called for eliminating terrorism, saying Afghan soil was being used against Pakistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
