TEHRAN:<\/strong> The head of Iran\u2019s Parliamentary Committee on National Security and Foreign Policy, Ebrahim Azizi<\/strong>, has said that peace negotiations with the United States would be impossible if Washington continues its current approach toward Tehran.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking in an interview with a US media outlet, Azizi said Iran does not trust the United States and believes that the credibility of American intentions remains in question.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNo Trust in US Intentions\u201d<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Azizi stated that Iran views the US position with deep skepticism and does not believe that American leadership is engaging in negotiations with genuine sincerity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe do not trust the United States. If this behavior continues, peace talks will not be possible,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He added that Iran\u2019s approach toward negotiations is shaped by its assessment of US actions rather than rhetoric, suggesting that diplomatic engagement is conditional on demonstrated seriousness from Washington.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Negotiations Seen as Part of Conflict<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe consider negotiations part of the conflict,\u201d he said, implying that diplomatic processes are closely linked to strategic and security considerations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, he noted that Iran would not oppose talks if the US demonstrates seriousness and adherence to agreed principles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIf we see seriousness from the United States and its president, we have no objection to negotiations,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Conditions for Dialogue<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Azizi emphasized that Iran\u2019s willingness to engage depends on whether the US follows established negotiation principles and maintains a consistent framework for dialogue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said that compliance with such principles would remove obstacles to diplomatic engagement, but inconsistency or lack of commitment would make progress impossible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Frozen Assets and Key Obstacles<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Addressing barriers to progress in negotiations, Azizi pointed to Iran\u2019s frozen assets as a major unresolved issue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
