{"id":21476,"date":"2026-05-05T14:33:25","date_gmt":"2026-05-05T09:33:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pakjazbo.com\/?p=21476"},"modified":"2026-05-05T14:33:27","modified_gmt":"2026-05-05T09:33:27","slug":"hot-weather-to-persist-in-karachi-but-temperature-to-stay-below-40c","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pakjazbo.com\/?p=21476","title":{"rendered":"Hot weather to persist in Karachi but temperature to stay below 40\u00b0C"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">KARACHI: The Pakistan Meteorological Department has predicted the temperature in Karachi Division to remain hot but below 40\u00b0C.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the PMD\u2019s weather forecast till Thursday, \u201chot and humid\u201d weather is expected to persist on Tuesday, with the maximum temperature forecasted to be between 37\u201339\u00b0C.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Similar conditions will persist on May 6 (Wednesday) and May 7 (Thursday), PMD said in its advisory, when the maximum temperature will be between 36\u201338\u00b0C and 35-37\u00b0C, respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As per the forecast, \u201chot\/very hot and dry weather\u201d was likely to prevail over most parts of Sindh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Meanwhile, K-Electric\u2019s Head of Distribution Operations, Khurram Abdullah, said on Tuesday that there will be no loadshedding in \u201cany areas where the \u2018feels-like\u2019 temperature reaches 45\u00b0C\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Addressing a live session from the utility\u2019s Facebook account, he added, \u201cmaintenance shutdowns have been suspended due to the heatwave\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He further stated that illegal connections (<em>kundas<\/em>) caused overloading, leading to localised faults and accidents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cCooperation from residents is essential to resolve local faults,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A day earlier, the metropolis<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dawn.com\/news\/1997593\/10-found-dead-as-karachi-endures-hottest-day-in-eight-years\">&nbsp;witnessed<\/a>&nbsp;its highest temperature since 2018 at 44.1\u00b0C accompanied by gusts of continental winds that persisted throughout the day, claiming the lives of at least 10 people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Despite the record temperature in eight years, it was notable that the \u201cfeels-like\u201d temperature did not exceed 40\u00b0C due to relatively low humidity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A PMD official said the maximum temperature recorded in the city on Monday was 44.1\u00b0C with 17pc humidity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Based on current trends and data, he said, the temperature was expected to start declining from Tuesday (today) as dry winds subsided, and would gradually drop further over the week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Nati\u00adonal Disaster Manage\u00adment Authority (NDMA) on Tuesday also&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dawn.com\/news\/1997631\/extreme-heat-prompts-nationwide-emergency-protocols\">issued<\/a>&nbsp;sweeping emergency protocols and placed hospitals on alert as extreme, above-normal summer temperatures persisted throughout the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Our readers are at the heart of everything we do.<\/strong><br>Do you have a thought to share or a way we can improve?
