His resignation marks a significant development for PTI, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where he has long been regarded as a respected legal and political figure.

Speaking to the media, Qazi Anwar stated that he had decided to step away after experiencing what he described as disrespect and humiliation by the current party leadership. He said that his association with PTI, once a source of pride and commitment, had instead become a cause of emotional pain and distress.

“I have formally resigned from the basic membership of PTI and all party offices,” Qazi Anwar said. “Unfortunately, the way I was treated by the present leadership deeply hurt me. I felt humiliated, and this caused me great mental and emotional suffering.”

Qazi Anwar emphasized that his decision was not made in haste, but after careful reflection. He explained that he had dedicated many years to PTI, supporting the party during difficult times and contributing both politically and professionally. However, he felt that his services and seniority were not given due respect.

Despite his resignation, Qazi Anwar made it clear that his personal relationship with PTI founder Imran Khan would remain intact. He stressed that his differences were not with the party’s founder but with the current leadership structure and its conduct.

“My personal relationship with Imran Khan will remain as it always has been,” he said. “My respect for him is unchanged. However, the behavior of the present leadership has made it impossible for me to continue within the party.”

Qazi Anwar Advocate has been a prominent figure within PTI’s organizational and legal framework. He served as the President of the Insaf Lawyers Forum Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, playing a key role in mobilizing the legal community in support of the party. In addition, he was a member of PTI’s core committee and several other important party committees, where he was involved in policy discussions, legal strategy, and organizational planning.

His departure is being viewed by political observers as a significant loss for PTI, particularly at a time when the party is already facing internal challenges, leadership disputes, and external political pressure. As a senior and elderly leader, Qazi Anwar was often seen as a voice of experience and moderation within the party ranks.

Sources within PTI suggest that internal disagreements and dissatisfaction among senior leaders have been growing, especially regarding decision-making processes and the treatment of long-standing party members. Qazi Anwar’s resignation has once again brought these issues into the spotlight, raising questions about internal unity and organizational discipline within the party.

Political analysts believe that such resignations could have wider implications for PTI’s standing in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where the party has traditionally enjoyed strong support. Losing seasoned leaders with grassroots and professional influence may affect both morale and organizational effectiveness, particularly in the legal and intellectual circles.

So far, PTI’s central leadership has not issued a detailed response to Qazi Anwar’s resignation. However, party insiders say efforts may be made to persuade him to reconsider, given his stature and long association with the movement.

Qazi Anwar, meanwhile, has indicated that while he is stepping away from party roles, he will continue to practice law and remain engaged with national issues as a concerned citizen. He has not announced any plans to join another political party.

Senior Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and veteran lawyer Qazi Anwar Advocate has announced his resignation from the party’s basic membership and all organizational positions, expressing profound disappointment over his treatment within the party.
