Wellington:<\/strong> New Zealand\u2019s star batter and former captain Kane Williamson<\/strong> has officially announced his retirement from T20 International cricket<\/strong>, bringing an end to a distinguished career in the shortest format of the game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

New Zealand Cricket (NZC) confirmed the development, adding that Williamson will also skip the upcoming white-ball series against the West Indies<\/strong> to focus on the three-match Test series scheduled in December<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Williamson, one of the most consistent and respected batters of his generation, departs the T20I arena as New Zealand\u2019s second-highest run-scorer<\/strong> in the format. Since making his debut in 2011<\/strong>, he represented the Black Caps in 93 T20 Internationals<\/strong>, amassing 2,575 runs<\/strong> at an average of around 33<\/strong>, including 18 half-centuries<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beyond his batting brilliance, Williamson\u2019s leadership has been instrumental in shaping New Zealand into a world-class T20 side.
