However, medical experts emphasize that <strong>breast cancer is completely curable if detected at an early stage<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to <strong>Dr. Khaleel Ahmed Mehr<\/strong>, an oncologist and chemotherapy specialist at <strong>Jinnah Hospital Karachi<\/strong> and <strong>River City Hospital Sukkur<\/strong>, the major reason behind the alarming rise in breast cancer cases is the <strong>lack of timely screening and awareness<\/strong> among women. \u201cBreast cancer is not an immediate death sentence,\u201d he said. \u201cWith early diagnosis, modern treatment, and proper care, thousands of women can recover and live healthy lives.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dr. Mehr explained that <strong>self-examination<\/strong> plays a crucial role in early detection. Every woman, he advised, should examine herself once a month and look for any <strong>unusual lumps, swelling, pain, or changes in skin color or texture<\/strong>. If any of these symptoms appear, she should immediately consult a qualified doctor. He further mentioned that while the disease is most common among <strong>women over the age of 40<\/strong>, recent data indicates an increasing number of <strong>younger women<\/strong> are also being diagnosed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He cautioned that <strong>ignoring the initial symptoms<\/strong> of breast cancer is one of the biggest mistakes women make. \u201cThe earlier the cancer is detected, the higher the chances of complete recovery,\u201d he noted. To ensure early detection, women should undergo a <strong>mammography or ultrasound test at least once a year<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Discussing treatment, Dr. Mehr emphasized that <strong>chemotherapy, surgery, and radiation therapy<\/strong> have become significantly more advanced and less painful over time. \u201cWith proper medical treatment, a positive mindset, and strong family support, patients can regain their health and confidence,\u201d he said, adding that psychological strength and the encouragement of loved ones are as important as the medicines themselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The doctor urged that awareness campaigns and open discussions about breast cancer are essential, especially in <strong>rural areas<\/strong>, where cultural taboos often prevent women from seeking timely help.
