According to Chinese media, experts believe this rapid adoption of robotic technology is helping the country offset labor shortages while boosting the resilience and efficiency of its manufacturing sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The International Federation of Robotics (IFR)<\/em> reported in its 2025 review that the total number of operational industrial robots in China has now reached 2.027 million units<\/strong>, more than any other country in the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Out of the 542,000 robots<\/strong> installed globally in 2024, over half were deployed in China. These robots are increasingly being used in automobile assembly, electronics manufacturing, and heavy materials handling<\/strong>, replacing traditional human labor in repetitive and precision-based tasks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Experts say that humanoid robots<\/strong>\u2014machines designed to resemble and function like humans\u2014represent the next stage of industrial evolution. While exact production figures remain unclear, multiple Chinese firms have moved from research to large-scale manufacturing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In August 2025, a company based in Guangdong Province<\/strong> received an order for 10,000 humanoid robots<\/strong>, the largest single order in the industry\u2019s history. The robots will reportedly be used in elderly care facilities, addressing the country\u2019s rapidly aging demographics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Data shows that while China\u2019s population declined by 0.1%<\/strong> last year, the number of installed industrial robots rose by 5%<\/strong>, with the new 295,000 units accounting for 54% of all global installations<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Japan ranked second with 45,000 new robots, followed by the United States with 34,200.
