Dubai: After the match between Pakistan and UAE, UAE captain Mohammad Wasim silenced an Indian journalist by giving a satisfactory answer to a question about the walkover.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

During Muhammad Wasim’s media interview, an Indian journalist asked why the UA did not take a walkover when the Pakistan team arrived late at the ground.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In response, Muhammad Wasim quickly replied that we did not come here to take a walkover to play. Taking a walkover is not our responsibility, our focus is on the game
.He further said that all matters were in the hands of the organizing committee, we had already been told that the match would start late.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It should be noted that there was a deadlock between the PCB and the ICC over the handshake controversy in the last Pakistan-India match and the demand for the removal of match referee Andy Croft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When no progress was made in this regard at the ICC and PCB meeting in Dubai, the PCB chairman prevented the team from leaving the ground and sent them back to their hotel rooms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The deadlock was later broken after match referee Andy Pycroft apologized and the national team reached the stadium from the hotel, causing the match to start an hour late.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It should be remembered that this controversy started when the Indian captain and players did not shake hands with the Pakistani team during the Pakistan-India match. However, the most controversial aspect of it was match referee Andy Croft asking Pakistani captain Salman Ali Agha not to shake hands with Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav during the toss.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Pakistan Cricket Board took immediate action on this incident and demanded that the ICC remove Andy Croft from the Asia Cup and wrote a letter to this effect twice. However, the ICC rejected the PCB’s demand and later offered the PCB to remove Andy Croft from Pakistan’s matches and give this responsibility to Richie Richardson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
