Speaking on Geo News program <em>Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Kay Saath<\/em>, the minister warned that the situation could escalate when massive floodwaters currently passing through Punjab converge at <strong>Panjnad<\/strong> before entering Sindh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Malik explained that although the immediate surge has slightly eased, Pakistan is far from safe. He highlighted climate trends, noting that <em>\u201cfrom next year, the monsoon season is expected to begin almost two weeks earlier, last longer, and bring more frequent spells compared to this year.\u201d<\/em> Such changes, he warned, could place additional strain on Pakistan\u2019s already fragile flood management systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the same time, Federal Minister for Planning, Ahsan Iqbal, expressed frustration at India\u2019s water management practices. He alleged that India deliberately stored water and then released it in sudden surges, worsening the scale of damage in Pakistan. \u201cHad the water come in a gradual flow, it could have been better managed,\u201d Iqbal said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The planning minister further stated that <strong>Narowal is experiencing its worst flooding since 1988<\/strong>, with large-scale destruction to crops and infrastructure. He stressed the urgent need for a <strong>comprehensive national action plan<\/strong>, agreed upon by all provinces, to remove encroachments from riverbanks and natural water pathways.
