The prosecution sought an extension of remand, arguing that further interrogation was necessary. On behalf of the accused, Advocate Waqar Abbasi submitted legal representation documents, opposing prolonged detention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The investigating officer informed the court that the case had been registered under sections of the Anti-Terrorism Act due to the nature of threats and violence involved. When asked by the court about the progress of the investigation, the officer admitted that so far, statements under Section 161 of the Code of Criminal Procedure had been recorded from only two individuals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The judge expressed dissatisfaction over the lack of progress, questioning the competence of the investigators. In a series of sharp remarks, the court inquired about the whereabouts of specialized investigation units such as the CIA and SIU, sarcastically asking if they had \u201call died.\u201d The judge further criticized the reliance on ineffective investigation methods, even questioning whether the use of sniffer dogs was of any practical value.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Showing clear frustration, the judge rebuked the investigating officer:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u201cWhat progress have you made so far? Why are you seeking more remand when nothing has been done?\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cAre you expecting to be promoted to DSP after handling this case?\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cApplicants even struggle to get simple number plates despite paying fees. People are being humiliated while you fail to deliver basic services.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When the officer claimed that the complainant had not produced any witnesses, the court strongly objected, asking whether the police were servants of the complainant or independent investigators responsible for pursuing justice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the end of the hearing, the ATC granted a three-day extension in Farhan Ghani\u2019s physical remand, ordering the accused to be presented again on August 30.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This case has attracted significant attention, not only because of the high-profile position of the accused but also due to the court\u2019s unusually strong criticism of police performance.
