Karachi<\/strong> \u2013 Senior Pakistani actress Hina Bayat<\/strong> has strongly criticized the government over the deteriorating situation in Karachi following heavy rainfall, blaming decades of mismanagement, corruption, and neglect for the city\u2019s woes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Taking to Instagram, Hina shared a video in which she vented her anger at the authorities. She remarked that the recent rain had once again exposed the incompetence of those ruling Karachi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOne rainfall has proven that calamities do not only descend from the skies, some people become the source of them,\u201d she said. \u201cThe insensitive and incompetent individuals who have ruled Karachi for decades have forgotten that their positions are meant for public service.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Hina slammed the government for failing to provide even the most basic infrastructure to the country\u2019s highest tax-paying city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThere are no proper roads, no drainage systems. The entire city is flooded, yet the water is not drinkable\u2014because the tanker mafia<\/strong> must make its profits,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The actress further criticized what she described as a corrupt system:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThey remove street vendors but allow illegal buildings to be constructed in their place. They block drains and sewage systems, and after the rain, they step out to show sympathy. Mr. Mayor, that sympathy is useless.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Hina also took a direct jab at Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori<\/strong>, saying his public appearance in a luxury brand cap was offensive to the suffering citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cGovernor Sahib, you came out wearing a Gucci cap\u2014this was like rubbing salt into our wounds. You should have worked before the rain, not after, just to show sympathy. The rain didn\u2019t affect you, so you sit comfortably while we suffer.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Demanding accountability, she declared:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe want answers from the government. Karachi has been turned into the rest of Sindh\u2014poverty, hunger, suffering, and helplessness, while people cannot even raise their voices. The time for accountability has come. Enough is enough.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
